Meet the Creator
Hello, café friends!
Hi, I'm Annabelle Jaime, the artist, writer, web designer, and independent creator behind Berry Bear Comics. This cozy webcomic follows Berry Bear, Momo, Ducky Lee Quack, and their friends through café mishaps, sleepy mornings, funny misunderstandings, heartfelt moments, fantasy quests, and wonderfully chaotic adventures.
I created Berry Bear Comics as a comforting place where gentle humor, friendship, creativity, and everyday life can exist beside larger adventures. A warm drink with friends can be just as meaningful as traveling to a distant museum, exploring a new place, solving a ridiculous problem, or setting out on a legendary quest.
Every part of this project is created and managed by me. I write the stories, develop the characters and their relationships, illustrate the comic pages, design the environments, add the lettering, prepare the artwork for the web, and continue expanding Berry Bear's world one comic at a time.
I also designed and coded this website with HTML and CSS so that Berry Bear Comics could have a cozy home of its own. The site is meant to feel like stepping into a tiny neighborhood café filled with warm lights, sweet pastries, soft music, friendly faces, and a new comic waiting at your favorite table.
My goal is to create stories that feel welcoming, funny, imaginative, and heartfelt. I hope readers can connect with the characters, laugh at their adventures, and return whenever they need a peaceful little break from the outside world.

🌈 My Coming Out Story
For a long time, I believed that the life I was supposed to live meant finding happiness in relationships with men. I dated two guys, hoping that maybe I simply had not found the right person.
The first relationship ended because we were not compatible. Looking back, it felt like I was giving far more than I was receiving. The second relationship was even more painful. I experienced abuse, betrayal, and eventually discovered that he had been cheating on me with a woman who was already married and had a child.
That relationship left me questioning my self-worth and what I truly wanted in life.
Those experiences forced me to be honest with myself. The truth was that I had been trying to fit into a version of my life that was not really me.
During Pride Month in June 2023, I finally found the courage to tell my parents something I had carried in my heart for a long time:
At first, they were surprised. Like many parents, they needed a little time to process what I had shared. Their first response was that girls could hurt me just as much as boys could.
And honestly, they were right.
Anyone can experience heartbreak, regardless of gender. What mattered most was not only that first conversation, but everything that came afterward.
They accepted me for who I am.
That acceptance meant everything to me.
Since then, I have continued learning to live authentically. Coming out was not about rejecting my past. It was about embracing my future. It was about choosing honesty over fear and allowing myself to be loved for who I truly am.
That is why the rainbow means so much to me. To many people, it is simply a rainbow. To me, it represents courage, authenticity, hope, acceptance, and the freedom to finally be myself.
It reminds me that even after the darkest storms, brighter days are always waiting on the other side.
My journey has not always been easy. I have experienced heartbreak, struggled with my mental health, faced disappointment, and lived through moments when I questioned everything.
Every chapter, both joyful and painful, helped shape the person I am today.
I am proud of who I am. I am grateful for the people who stood beside me. And for the first time in my life, I am excited about the future because I am living it as my authentic self.
This journey is also one of the reasons Berry Bear Comics is an LGBTQ-friendly webcomic. I wanted to create a cozy world where kindness, identity, acceptance, friendship, laughter, and belonging are at the heart of every story.
